AC Shadows Unveils Unexpected Attack on Titan Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a bizarre crossover event that breaks traditional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Revealed
According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious meeting leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of banned ceremonies and monstrous transformations echo through the obscurity." The narrative presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a secret sect.
The questline concentrates on "strange experiments and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses
The preview showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview concludes with a striking moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Extra Material
Players who accomplish the quest will receive an unique katana alongside numerous items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Update
This update also brings the game's latest free story content, titled "The Mystery." This playful quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature abilities: Naoe debuts a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
